Pulling in to the deserted Dairy Queen parking lot tonight, I wondered if we were the only ones in town interested in a frozen treat on a warmer-than-usual-but-still-chilly evening. The young lady behind the counter informed us that it had, in fact, been a busy night.

The gourmands among us will tell you there are proper ways to eat ice cream in the winter time. Epicurious suggests topping it with saucy cooked fruit. Martha Stewart may earn some Wisconsin street cred by suggesting that ice cream is a wholesome breakfast food.

As far as Amanda and I are concerned, there are 3 simple answers to the question, “How do you eat ice cream in the wintertime?”

  1.  With a spoon
  2.  On a stick
  3.  In a cone

Any questions?
