Tonight, we decided to check out the sunset from Hoyt Park, which has a nice overlook facing the West side of Madison. The sky never really “popped” with any real color, although the cloud formations were quite nice.

Then, along came two handsome canines, pulling their owner through the wooded park. The smaller dog, Rastazul, was an eager young chocolate-colored lab pup, and the other a seasoned Golden retriever named Coconiño. The owner explained that the puppy was born with blue eyes, which have now turned green, so the dog really should be renamed Rastaverde.

Together, they reminded me a bit of Lola and Juno — the gentile elder statesdog accompanied by an impertinent young protégé.
